Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Access the various transactional functions of SAP Fieldglass.

The Home Page

After logging into SAP Fieldglass, users will land on the Homepage. This page will help you navigate throughout the SAP Fieldglass application, including creating and managing contingent labor and services projects.

Your view of the SAP Fieldglass home page may look a bit different than what you’re seeing here. It may also look slightly different than your colleague’s home page. The variables you see upon logging in are based on your user role permissions, as well as what data you’re associated to.

1Work Items are transactions that require the user’s action in SAP Fieldglass. The My Work Items widget allows fast access to the most recent work items.
2The My Recently Viewed Items widget lists and links to the ten most recently viewed items, such as work orders or job posting records.
3Announcements may be visible to buyer users, supplier users, or to workers. Buyer companies may display a customized announcement on the home page to share any information they need all users to see.

The My Workers widget will display any workers or open job postings you own and their current status. Workers will display with an icon indicating good, warning, or critical status; job postings will display in open, warning or critical status.

The warning or critical statuses will appear if a worker or job posting has had open work items for a certain period, as determined by the PMO Dashboard thresholds. Clicking on sections of the widget will open the My Workers dashboard.

You can create a new job posting from this widget by selecting the Request Worker link.

The My Statements of Work widget will display any SOWs you own and their current status. SOWs will display with an icon indicating good, warning, or critical status as well. Clicking on sections of the widget will open the My SOW dashboard.

You can create a new SOW from this widget by selecting the Create SOW link.

The Menu Bar

This section of the home page provides access to the various transactional modules within SAP Fieldglass.

You can select the Expand/Collapse icon to show or hide the full menu.

My Items

The My Items menu is where you would go to view any work items that have been tagged specifically to you, such as workers, SOWS, reminders, and annotations, among others.

Contingent Labor

The Contingent Labor menu is where you would go to view or create items related to Contingent worker procurement, such as job postings and job seekers, among others.

Services

The Services menu is where you would go to view or create items related to services worker procurement, such as statements of work, SOW Bids, and activity items, among others.

Worker

The Worker menu is where you would go to view or create items related to workers, such as work orders, time sheets, and expense sheets, among others.

Payments

The Payments menu is where you would go to view or create items related to payment, such as the various types of invoices.

Planning

The Planning menu is where you would go to find assistance with determining the appropriate type of transaction you may need. You will find option for either a decision form or wizard.

Analytics

The Analytics menu is where you will go to create new reports, run existing reports, and view the data from previously run reports.

PMO Dashboard

The PMO Dashboard allows authorized users to manage day-to-day tactical items within SAP Fieldglass that may require action. Follow up and completion of these work items ensures that the workflow continues with minimal interruptions. Use of this tool can immediately improve the efficiency of the program.

Supplier

The Supplier menu is where you would go to review information on your organization’s suppliers.

Create

The Create menu is where you will got to create new transactions in SAP Fieldglass, such as a Job Posting for Worker, a Statement of Work, or an Invoice. It will open a new page of menu options. The items available to create will be based on specific system configuration and user role permissions.

Admin Menu

The Admin menu is where you would go to create or review the settings of the various data items required to perform transactions. The administrative objects available depend upon specific system configuration and user role permissions.

Help

The Help menu provides options for learning more about using SAP Fieldglass, including release communications, product documentation, and a reference library where organizations can store specific documents and guides. This menu includes contact information for the SAP Fieldglass Customer Support Team.

The User Menu

This section of the menu bar provides access to user-specific notifications, settings, or activities, including:

User Profile

The User Profile menu allows users to update their user profile, password, or UI settings. If assigned, it also allows users to set up access to other user accounts, including delegate, proxy, or linked user accounts.

Messages

The Messages icon opens the Message Center, which lists all messages and system generated email notifications that have been sent to the user. These messages can strictly be housed within the application, or can be sent to the user’s email address, depending on the organization’s message setup as well as the users’ configured preferences.

Work Items

The Work Items menu allows for a quick view of items requiring action upon login to the application. These are the same items found in the My Work Items widget on the home page.

Features

The Features menu presents some alternative methods of presenting the user interface, including Worker Centric, which allows for a simplified interface, and Vertical Navigation, which toggles the menu from a vertical view to a horizontal view.

Web Assistant

Selecting the Web Assistant icon brings up the assistant window which provides help for the most common SAP Fieldglass functions. You can type a search term prompt—such as ‘set up an interview with Joe Worker’—and it will prompt an action or return a list of appropriate options.

Customize

The Customize icon allows you to add, remove, or rearrange widgets and sections on your home page.

Global Search Bar

The Global Search bar is useful for finding things quickly. For instance, you can search a name and get every record in the system pertaining to that person. You can also search for a full Fieldglass ID like "LSFGJP00000515" or even just "jp515" to quickly jump to a particular document.
